Our Roots

As a non-profit division of Easter Seals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain, Inc., Goodwill Staffing Services is rooted in over 60 years of meeting individuals’ needs and providing life-enhancing solutions to their personal challenges. 

In 1996, seeing the need to provide effective job placement services to individuals with employment barriers, Easter Seals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain, Inc. opened up the Boise Goodwill Staffing Services office. 

It didn’t take us long to realize that the need to provide temporary, temp-to-hire and direct placement staffing services was equally pressing for individuals of all skill levels.  So, just a short time after opening our doors, we expanded to become a full service staffing agency. 

Since that day we have continued to expand our services.  By 2006 we were able to open our second office, located in Nampa.  GSS is a truly integrated staffing agency, providing training, testing, screening, drug testing, resume development services, temporary, temp-to-hire, direct hire and vocational training services. 

Today we generate over $3 million in revenues by providing some of the best staffing services in the Treasure Valley.

The GSS Boise Team

 

Marci Bailey – Marci, the director, has worked for Easter Seals-Goodwill for over 20 years and has been the Manager of the Boise Goodwill Staffing Services for more than ten years.  Marci manages GSS recruitment, advertising, skill assessments and payroll.  Marci has extensive experience providing employment counseling and helping people of all abilities find meaningful work.  Marci also has extensive community connections through her years of work as Development Coordinator for Easter Seal-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain, Inc. in Idaho.
 

Jennifer Rountree - Jennifer serves as the Sales Manager in Boise.  Her responsibilities include sales, customer service and quality assurance.  She has spent nearly a decade in sales, and is able to use her experience working with state agencies, small businesses and large businesses to ensure that their unique staffing needs are met.  She is also involved in many community organizations, including the Boise Metro Chamber of Commerce.

Susie Totman - Susie is our Staffing Coordinator for the Boise office and is responsible for filling customer orders and interviewing field staff.  She is able to identify prospective employee’s skills and interests in order to successfully place individuals in the best possible job for the agency or business.  As part of the interview process, Ms. Totman ensures that individuals are background checked, reference checked and tested on computer skills, typing, 10-key and other office skills.  Additionally, she is responsible for Boise’s payroll and invoicing.

 

 

The GSS Nampa Team

 

Mandy Artz – Mandy is the Nampa Staffing Coordinator who serves as the office manager, assists individuals with the application process as well as facilitates employer/employee services and communications.  Mandy also coordinates the GSS office skills building training programs that are available at no charge to GSS applicants.  For six years, Mandy operated a childcare business and also has experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Julie Dowen - Julie is our Sales Manager for the Nampa area who serves as the primary contact for new businesses seeking temporary employees in the Canyon County area.  As sales manager, Julie is responsible for marketing GSS services, generating and activating new accounts with local employers to provide job opportunities for GSS employees.  Julie has extensive experience in the field of customer service and comes from a background of retail sales and residential real estate.  She is new to the staffing industry and is excited about all of the networking opportunities and new business relations with area employers.  Julie is also heavily involved in the Nampa and Caldwell Chamber of Commerce.

In fulfilling this mission statement, GSS is empowered by more than 60 years of serving people - service that has been carried out by GSS and our parent corporation, Easter Seals-Goodwill Northern Rocky Mountain, Inc.  Easter Seals-Goodwill is one of the most recognized service organizations in the world.  Our mission, vision, and values are really an extension of their mission statement, which states:
